DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

Treasurer

The Treasurer ensures the integrity of the organization’s fiscal affairs and provides financial oversight for the board by working closely with the Executive Director of the Association.

Duties, Responsibilities, and Authorities:

Serves as chair of working groups and meetings as assigned by the President or Board.
Reviews the finances of the organization in conjunction with the Association Executive Director.
Consults with the Association Executive Director on fiscal matters of the organization.
Reviews the annual budget, prepared by the Association Executive Director, prior to presentation to the board for approval.
Ensures the development and board review of financial policies and procedures.
Reviews association expenditures and financial status regularly to maintain fiscal integrity.
Actively supports and participates in programs and activities of the association.
Help guide the association’s strategic direction

Secretary

The Secretary is responsible for supervising the maintenance of the official records of the board, including meeting minutes.

Duties, Responsibilities, and Authorities:

Reviews, prior to presentation to the board, the recorded attendance, votes, and proceedings of board meetings as permanent records of the association
Oversees the distribution of the minutes to board members shortly after each meeting.
Maintains familiarity with legal documents (articles, bylaws, IRS letters, etc.) to ensure proper applicability during meetings.
Assists with roll calls at board meetings to establish the presence of a quorum.
Performs other duties as assigned by the President or Board, which may include serving as chair or member of other committees.
Actively supports and participates in programs and activities of the association.

Board of Directors:

The Board of Directors represents the members of the organization and works to achieve the organization’s mission, while providing valuable resources to members through education and advocacy.

Duties, Responsibilities, and Authorities

Attend board meetings and other important association meetings.
Prepare for meetings by reviewing materials, minutes, and reports in advance, and provide thoughtful feedback.
Volunteer for assignments, accept responsibilities willingly, and complete tasks thoroughly and on time.
Help guide the association’s strategic direction
Actively participate in committee work and stay informed on committee matters.
Build strong working relationships with committee members to foster collaboration and consensus.
Contribute to the committee’s evaluation and planning efforts as an engaged participant.
